Winners of Photo Contest

This past January we won the Philadelphia Magazine photo contest!!! We won first place in the candid category and in the detail category and were also nominated in the portrait category.
Mother & Daughter hugging is an image from Anna & Kerry’s Wedding. The excitement that Anna’s mom felt filled the room!!! Just Feel The Love!
The image of the ring is from the wedding of Jenny and Bill. While photographing details in Jenny’s room we noticed a large novel by Shakespeare with the work of Romeo & Juliet enclosed! We found out from her sister that Jenny had preformed in theater as a child! The little details make the neatest stories!

The Cottage

I thought I would share some images of our little place in the country. After you see these pictures, you can see why we live where we do! The Farm is 200+ years old & is where I grew up with my two sisters. I am extremely fortunate to have two loving close families: Tony’s and mine! Almost 5 years ago, just before Tony and I were married, my parents decided to turn the wagon shed into a cottage for one of us girls. With me being the first to marry, I grabbed it! This past Christmas my younger sister Hannah gave me the gift of the cottage for another year… I don’t think she realizes that Tony is never leaving! Okay, so I still live at home, but who wouldn’t when you have a family like I do? Two weeks ago we had a sleepover for our nieces and nephews. With a total of 7 in the group, and 1 on the way, we knew it was going to be a blast! The night was filled with Pizza, S’mores and a number of movies. A sleepover at the cottage is never complete until we take a hike in woods, mostly because the lack of space indoors! We would not have it any other way!
Generations of Love

Jeanette & Joe’s wedding had the perfect fall setting, and it helped that Jeanette’s parents own a farm with an apple orchid and pumpkin patches. Jeanette got ready at her parents’ home, which is located on the outer edge of the farm. There is much family history there, including her parents’ names carved into the bark of a tree in the front yard. The ceremony took place not to far away, and after the “I Dos” were said, we made our way back to the farm for portraits. It was a beautiful day, with a soft breeze and the scent of freshly fallen apples on the ground. With our friend Dave Williams from Dvideography (video) by our side we were able to capture wonderful moments and I’m sure his video will be amazing (It always is!). We timed the lighting perfect, too… After the farm, we headed to the Manor House for the reception. Amy Miller and the girls produced a wonderful evening and the Manor House was glowing under the dusk sky, which really made a pretty backdrop for the reception.
“How To” Love a Tiger

Click here to View the wedding of Caroline & Jon
This fall Tony and I had the wonderful pleasure to photograph a Tiger… not just any Tiger, but Caroline Tiger! Caroline is an author of several “How To” books.
With Caroline being a writer, and Jon a lawyer, it seemed only fitting for the wedding to take place in the historic building of The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, locally known as PAFA. With some help from the fabulous Kendall Brown of Eclatante Design the evening was transformed into a celebration of Love and Art! When Jon saw Caroline for the first time in one of the side rooms at the Union League, it was breathtaking! Jon was all smiles! Before heading to the ceremony, we decided to make a quick stop into the “Naked Chocolate Cafe” on Walnut Street. With no time to spare we quickly headed across town! The ceremony filled with beautiful music from a string quartet, the moment of saying “I Do” seemed to stand still! The New York Times had sent their own writer to document the night. The Times writer gently captured “the moments in between the moments” with the grace of her pen. It was wonderful to see their story printed for the world to share! I love how the images turned out!

Cold Winter’s Day
To view some of my favorite images from Jenny and Bill’s wedding then please view this link: Jenny & Bill’s wedding.
Jenny and Bill traveled to Philadelphia from Manhattan for the wedding of their dreams. The cold weather, on December 6, did not keep them indoors for their wedding photos! The ceremony took place right after dusk, on a crisp winter night just before Christmas – There was peacefulness in the air. Jenny and Bill were willing to sneak away for a couple of images right before the ceremony to take advantage of the light. It was beautiful! After the vows were said, snowflakes filled the sky and despite the 29 degree temperature we all took to the streets of Philadelphia for some night shots. The snowflakes seemed to dance around the newlyweds and glisten like diamonds. We made our way into the Union League for their breathtaking reception. It was really wonderful to photograph and capture the little moments of Jenny & Bill’s wedding!
On and Off Stage

The Wedding of Jen & Leo was right out of a movie script!
The weather, on the beaches of Jersey, performed perfectly and Leo hit all of his marks!
Okay, so I was spoiled in more ways than one… Jen had an appearance on the TV series CSI and recently finished a part in a feature film releasing next year – So it was no surprise that she was at ease in front of the camera. Leo, a music producer for CMT records and a talented musician, entertained his guest with a solo performance like nothing I had ever heard before! It was a real treat. It was truly special to hear Leo toast his new bride at the reception, surrounded by their Family & Friends!

Two Couples & One Day

Click here to view Leah & Josh’s images
This past October I had one day & two wonderful couples to photograph! Both couples, Leah & Josh and Julie & Joe, are extremely wonderful clients who are more like friends! When picking days to meet it could not have worked out more perfectly to get together the same day! In the morning, Tony & I met up with Julie & Joe at the Wonderland Pier with their not so tiny puppy “Dory”! We had arrived way before the park had opened & Brian (one of the managers) not only gave us free rein of the park, but also operated any rides we wanted! We really had a great time running around like we were in high school again!
For Lunch, Tony and I had met up with my sister Emily and my nephew Maddox (19 months). We took a nice walk on the Boardwalk , then stopped at Mack & Manco’s for pizza. After lunch we went down to the beach and played “ring around the rosy”, one of Maddox’s favorites.
Leah & Josh joined us in the afternoon. After running around Wonderland Pier and taking pictures in the photo-booth, we had a quick change of clothing and then headed to the second location. Leah introduced me to my new favorite location, the Margate Pier! Not only were we running against time, but we were loosing light fast! Once we made it onto the beach, time stood still! The lighting was stunning! With Leah’s red hair and the glowing of the sunset it looked like a vintage movie set. They were even willing to go into the cold October Jersey Ocean & I was not far to follow!
Ahhhh, if all days could be filled with laughter, sunny beaches and couples madly in love!
